Cartmell Shepherd’s judging day with the Family Business Network

February 7th 2020

Cartmell Shepherd Solicitors are proud partners of the Family Business Network who are here to champion family businesses across the North West, recognising their achievements and celebrating their successes.

Following our commitment to the previous Family Business Award Ceremonies we were asked to take part in the judging of the People’s Choice Award for the North West Family Business Awards.

The People’s Choice Award is a nomination only category and is open to family businesses of all shapes and sizes, and across all sectors.  The shortlist is then chosen by the judges, as with all other categories. The overall winner is then decided by a combination of judges’ scores and a public vote.

Yesterday was judging day and our very own Peter Stafford, Joanne Stronach, Claire Davies and Terri Hope were there to welcome the family businesses and hear their stories.

Claire Davies one of the judges said “The feeling I was left with was how passionate people were about their businesses and how they genuinely loved what they did.  I was also very impressed by the commitment they had to their communities and to their staff.

The fact that they were family businesses meant that they never shied away from going the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction and had real pride in seeing a job well done.

It was lovely to see a wide variety of businesses applying for the award.”

The judging panel and #TeamCartmells would like to wish all the finalists the very best of luck and look forward to celebrating with the winner at the awards ceremony in the Concorde Hangar at The Runway Visitor Park, Manchester Airport on the 6th March 2020.
