Give a Day to the City

Give a Day 2018 took place this week in and around Carlisle.

On the 5th July 2018 Cartmell Shepherd volunteered to take part in Give a Day to the City.

This year Cartmell Shepherd had two teams of volunteers; one team to help develop the Tullie House Secret Garden Project and the other team helped put together a walkway through Blackburn Wood at Oak Tree Animals’ Charity making access to the outdoor learning centre.

All volunteers had a fantastic day and both projects were great to be involved with!

“The project at Tullie House was great to be a part of.  The secret garden is going to be amazing and it was a pleasure to do our bit.  All the team really enjoyed their day – some of us spent the day digging, some building a path and others creating a bug hotel! We can’t wait to see the garden when it’s finished.”

“A day of fun and hard graft to help the community! Seeing the result of the hard work was extremely rewarding at Oak Tree, the outdoor learning area is now easily accessible for everyone including people with disabilities.”

From our first meeting we were made to feel welcome and valued customers. We were not made to feel intimidated at all.
