Elizabeth is a Senior Associate and Head of Residential Property at Cartmell Shepherd and has been with the firm for 14 years.
Elizabeth first graduated with a BA (Hons) in Education before studying law by distance-learning at Northumbria University, where she graduated with a distinction. She trained at Martineau Johnson in Birmingham, qualifying as a solicitor in 2003, and moved to Ward Hadaway in Newcastle, specialising in intellectual property law, before returning to Cumbria to join Cartmell Shepherd. She became an Associate in 2008.

Elizabeth has a wide range of knowledge and property expertise. She handles all aspects of property work with a particular specialism in high value or complex titles such as transfers of part, leasehold properties including leasehold development work and set up of leasehold developments schemes. She also covers residential sales, purchases and mortgages, first registration of land and property at the Land Registry, deeds of covenant and easement, co-ownership and matrimonial conveyancing. Elizabeth also deals with commercial property and therefore deals with many mixed use properties.
In her spare time Elizabeth enjoys gardening and has a particular interest in growing certain plants. Elizabeth is also a keen dog walker and can often be seen walking around north Cumbria with her Scottish Terrier.
