KAPOW! Superhero Challenge raised over £450

July 11th 2019

On Saturday 6th July #TeamCartmells Cape Crusaders took on the KAPOW! Superhero Challenge to raise money for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

Our fab five donned orange capes and masks while navigating an obstacle course made up of crazy challenges.

Lydia, Mandy, Gemma, Laura Murphy and Lauren arrived at Cockermouth Rugby club on a beautiful sunny day and kicked things off with a Moky Fit dance warm up with CFM’s Robbie Dee.

Then the girls were off onto the course, starting their first lap with the Biff Bash, large inflatable bollards that bounce back while our Crusaders tried to fight their way through. They then took on the maze and The Transformer which featured more bouncy bollards and tunnels to crawl through. After a fierce battle through the obstacles our girls made it to the end and amazingly, they had enough energy to complete another lap!

On the second go around they conquered the Stairs of Doom, sponsored and manned by Cartmell Shepherd. Perhaps the scariest obstacle of the bunch if you are squeamish with heights but no match for our team! They quickly made it up the rope and down the 3 meter slide before moving on to the next obstacle.

They ended the course with a run through foam before being awarded their Hospice at Home medals.

The girls thoroughly enjoyed the day and all of us at Cartmells couldn’t be prouder of them for supporting Hospice at Home West Cumbria in such a fab way!

The team had help from some honorary Cartmells heroes on the day, Laura Clarke, Carol and Dan, who got stuck in with our girls and helped to man not just our own, but the adjacent obstacle and helped people who were struggling.

Well done to all who participated on the day and got involved in raising money for Hospice at Home West Cumbria. Since opening our West Cumbria office, Cartmells have been keen to get involved in the community and support local charities. It was amazing to be involved in this event and we look forward to participating again in the future!
