Scott’s role sits within the senior leadership and management team for Cartmell Shepherd. His day to day responsibilities include business strategy and planning , risk management and compliance alongside executive level strategic and operational tasks.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Scott is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all staff including the identification and implementation of best practice and is the point of contact for data protection and information security within the business.

About Scott

A former Army Officer, Scott joined Cartmell Shepherd in October 2012 following a 21 year career in the British Army. With a background in Engineering and Operations Management, he was educated in Carlisle before leaving to join the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in 1991, where he stayed until joining Cartmells.

With over 18 years’ of experience in leadership roles, Scott has a real passion for the theory and practice of leadership and management.

He is a Chartered Manager (CMgr) and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI). Scott holds a first class BA(Hons) in Business Leadership and Management from Newcastle Business School and is an Inspira Cumbria schools mentor and a registered mentor for the Chartered Management Institute.

Scott won the Northern Law Award 2017 for Law Practice Management.

Outside of work Scott is a rugby union referee, a qualified mountain leader and enjoys all aspects of keeping physically and mentally fit.
