Haltwhistle solicitors working from home to help give people peace of mind during pandemic

May 11th 2020

WITH people wanting to ensure their legal affairs are in order during the Covid-19 pandemic a team of solicitors from Haltwhistle are working from home to help.

While many businesses have closed temporarily, or scaled back, Cartmell Shepherd Solicitors at Haltwhistle are working as hard as ever for their clients – the only difference being that they are based from home, rather than the office.

Nicholas Devlin one of Cartmell Shepherd’s solicitors based in Haltwhistle, said: “We are still only a phone call away and are very much here to help. We can cover all areas  of legal work remotely for our clients.

“We are doing everything we can to help people, whatever their needs are, whether it’s to do with wills, power of attorney, or general legal advice, any issue at all that they would usually contact us for, we are here to help.

“We are able to take instructions over the phone and speak to clients and their family over the phone and do what needs to be done to provide peace of mind for people. Documents can be posted out, witnessed and returned.

“If absolutely necessary, such as if someone needs us to act as witnesses for wills, because they aren’t able to ask neighbours, we are also able to visit clients.

“We always ensure all social distancing regulations are observed as everyone’s safety is paramount.

“We have stood outside at a safe distance while clients sit inside with patio doors or windows open. But the vast majority of the time everything can be completed remotely.”

As well as Nicholas, the team working across the Tyne Valley region also includes Miya Mark, Alice Whittome, Director Joanne Stronach (Head of Employment Law and HR) and  Director Mark Jackson (Agriculture).

Nicholas said:  “We are lucky to have such a vastly experienced and friendly team at Cartmell Shepherd who are all going out of their way to support the community and to make sure we give people the expertise and reassurance they are looking for.”

Cartmell Shepherd Solicitors’ Haltwhistle team can still be contacted throughout the lockdown on 01434 320362.
