Peter is Cartmell Shepherd’s Managing Director and Head of Business Services and is also an associate director at the University of Cumbria.

Peter has over 27 years of experience in managing large complex legal disputes of all types.

He is a full member of ACTAPS (The Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialist) and leads a team of 4 solicitors who handle probate disputes involving Wills, Trusts, Inheritance Disputes, Powers of Attorney and issues relating to capacity.

About Peter

Peter graduated with an LLB from Newcastle Upon Tyne University before qualifying as a Barrister (1992) and a Solicitor (1997). He joined Cartmell Shepherd in 1998, becoming an Associate in 2002, a Partner in 2011 and the firm’s Managing Director in 2016.

Peter has been recognised by the Legal 500 (which provides an in-depth analysis of the region’s law firms and solicitors).
