Carlisle Futures celebrates its 1st birthday

February 7th 2019

One year ago the young professionals networking group, Carlisle Futures, was launched by Laura Ousby and Laura Bright of Cartmell Shepherd Solicitors and Tom Fuller and Will Bell of Handelsbanken with the hope of replicating the success of Penrith Futures.

TONIGHT sees the group celebrate its 1st birthday with a “Birthday Party” at Carlisle Airport, kindly sponsored by Cartmell Shepherd and Handelsbanken.

Peter Stafford Managing Director of Cartmell Shepherd said “It has been great to see the group go from strength to strength. It has shown that Carlisle needed a networking group for young professionals from various professions to meet.”

Laura Ousby said “We now have a mailing list of over 200 young professionals based in and around Carlisle which is more than we could ever have imagined.  When we first set up the group we didn’t know what to expect but the interest has been huge and we now have a team of 12 from various businesses who meet to organise the events.”

Tom Fuller added “Over the last year we have put on four events and raised over £1,000 for charity. The events have each been sponsored by different businesses and we would like to thank them for making it possible.”

The birthday party will feature guest speakers Robin Graham and Molly Rose Lemonade and doughnuts by The Fat Cow.

The next Carlisle Futures event is planned for the 6th June.  For more information please contact Laura Ousby at laura.ousby@cartmells.co.uk
